CROWNS have officially become the naming sponsor of the CROWNS Baltic Challenge Cup ? the first Pan-Baltic ice hockey competition launched over the past decades.

Starting from the upcoming ice hockey season, the CROWNS Baltic Challenge Cup will consist a series of three individual tournaments held in Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.

The national team of Estonia, Lithuania and the Latvian League All Star Team compete in every tournament while the organizing association invites the fourth participating team.

The partnership agreement between CROWNS and the Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian ice hockey associations has been signed for three upcoming seasons until 2020.

The opening tournament of the CROWNS Baltic Challenge Cup 2017/2018 will be held at Tondiraba Ice Arena in Tallinn, Estonia on August 25-27, 2017. In the first tournament in Tallinn, the Swedish Hockeyettan side Hammarby Hockey will challenge the national selections of the three Baltic ice hockey nations.

The second tournament will be held on November 10-12, 2017 in Klaipeda, Lithuania. The third tournament will be held in Latvia on February 16-18, the venue yet to be confirmed.

Nils Andersson, President, CROWNS: ?CROWNS is a Swedish organisation that consists of people who for the last 40 years, in one way or the other, have held positions at the highest possible level in Swedish ice hockey. CROWNS loves ice hockey and wishes to help in developing the sport on all levels and in all areas. CROWNS ambition is to have its own team in the KHL. CROWNS team will play at home in Tallinn but will make some guest appearances in other countries if that is considered beneficial for ice hockey and for CROWNS? partners. CROWNS hopes that the co-operation will improve and develop ice hockey in the Baltic region, and of course in Estonia in the first instance. The ambition is to make an impact when it comes to the sport, the fans and from a marketing perspective. Another objective is to ?build bridges? and develop the co-operation between Scandinavia and the Baltic countries in both ice hockey and in other areas. CROWNS look forward to three exciting years within the scope of the agreement. ?

Rauno Parras, Chairman of Board, Estonian Ice Hockey Association: ?I am very delighted that the new era of CROWNS Baltic Challenge Cup has begun. The tournament we organized in Tallinn last November has been transformed into the cross-national competition which will add new flavour and value to the Baltic ice hockey scene. The Partnership with the CROWNS will enable us to develop the competition even further. The CROWNS Baltic Challenge Cup brings a lot of value to the Estonian national team by adding top level games into the annual schedule which is crucial for achieving good results in IIHF World Championship tournaments.?

Aigars Kalvitis, President, Latvian Ice Hockey Federation: ?The CROWNS Baltic Challange Cup is a great chance to strenghten the cooperation of ice hockey professionals in Baltics. For players, especially the young ones, it is a way to compete in a high level and to prepare for other tournaments like World Championship. I am glad that the fourth participating team will represent Sweden - a country with strong ice hockey traditions and skilled players. This means a more competitive tournament will be held. The Latvian team is pleased to compete with our closest neighbour countries and I am sure we will see a high level hockey there."

Petras Nauseda, President, Association Hockey Lietuva: ?This is a new era for the Baltic countries in the area of ice hockey development. I sincerely hope that the CROWNS Baltic Challenge Cup will show our common potential in commercial and marketing areas as well. Hereby I would like to wish all the participating teams a great tournament and a season full of positive moments. For sponsors and partners, I would like to wish enjoyable results! It is a big honour for us to work together with professional colleagues from Estonian and Latvian ice hockey associations.??
